When Is The Best Time To Do Cardio?"Is It In The Morning, Before A Workout Or After?" If your goal is to burn the maximum amount of fat than your going to have to do cardio. The thing you have to remember is that you want to be burning fat calories when you do your aerobic (cardio) exercise. It makes sense to do your aerobic (cardio) exercises when you have little or nothing in your stomach. Eating or drinking anything before you do your cardio sessions will raise blood sugar levels which can actually hinder the fat burning process. When is the best time to do cardio in order to burn fat? In the morning when you have nothing in your stomach. This way, any glucose you have in your system will be at a minimum and will be used up fairly quickly. You can than use more fat as energy than glucose. Now, if you can't do your cardio in the morning, I strongly suggest you do your main cardio after you've finished your main workout. I don't know why people do 25 minutes of cardio before their workouts. Firstly, doing 25 minutes of cardio before your workout drains you of all energy. You basically have no fuel in the tank in order to effectively get the most from your weight training. Secondly, by doing your cardio after your weight training workout, you ensure that you are using more fat for energy than glucose.
