A complete review of the Tunturi C6 elliptical trainer. Tunturi has been around for quite some time. Their name brand is trusted for quality and price/cost effectiveness. The C6 is a well made elliptical trainer. It has loads of options and has adjustable dual action arms and foot peddles for optimal comfort. In general, the Tunturi C6 offers one of the more cost effective elliptical trainers out there. For $1,038, you get an elliptical trainer with more features and options than you know what to do with.
Size
The Tunturi C6 is a solid elliptical trainer that pretty much requires a dedicated space for storage and exercise use. The C6 is rather heavy since the construction material used for the frame is solid steel. Although it is fairly heavy, it does come with transport wheels under the front base. Therefore, portability is not a problem for the Tunturi C6.
Quiet operation
The Tunturi C6 has variable electromagnetic resistance for smooth and ultra quiet operation. The C6 also uses an eddy current magnetic resistance system. The eddy current magnetic resistance system generates a stronger magnetic resistance when you start exercising. This allows you to make transitions between resistance levels easily and quietly.
Adjustable resistance/peddles
The Tunturi C6 uses electromagnetic resistance for a quiet and smooth ride. It also uses an adjustable orbital arc which allows users to workout effectively regardless of their height.
With three adjustable foot positions, the Tunturi C6 ensures that you workout in your most comfortable range of motion. I really like this option because an elliptical trainer should fit around the exerciser as opposed to the exerciser fitting around an elliptical trainer. The more comfortable you feel, the more effective a workout becomes.
Elliptical stride
With an adjustable elliptical orbit, the Tunturi C6 Elliptical Trainer allows all users to workout comfortably regardless of their height. With 3 adjustable positions of the footplate, the adjustable elliptical orbit ensures that you workout within your most comfortable range of motion that suits your natural walking stride.
Display/control panel
The display panel/control panel comes with an easy to read 3 colour dot matrix LED screen. This allows you to easily assess your current progress. There are also 3 numerical displays that provides feedback on time, number of steps, step rate, and calories burned. The only thing I don’t like about the display panel is that there isn’t a readout for distance and speed.
Programmes
More than enough programmes on the Tunturi C6 to keep you motivated and entertained. I’m quite impressed by the number of programmes on the C6. You get 11 programmed workouts as well as having the option to fully customize 8 workouts. You won’t see this on any elliptical trainers in this price range or on the higher priced elliptical machines for that matter.
Frame
The frame is primarily constructed of 2" x 2" and 2" x 3" 11 gauge steel tubing. The frame finish is powder coated. Made in the USA. The Tunturi C6 is pretty solid. The only thing I don’t like about it is that the recommended weight capacity is only 245 pounds.
Heart rate monitor
The Tunturi C6 comes with a Polar compatible heart rate with Polar chest strap. The C6 also comes with 4 heart rate control profiles which allows you to exercise in your optimal heart rate.
Dual action handle bars
The Tunturi C6 comes with adjustable, ergonomically correct dual action handle bars. The Tunturi C6 efficiently provides you with a total body cardiovascular elliptical trainer. Following your bodies natural walking motion, the Tunturi C6 Elliptical Trainer’s linked handlebars and pedals allow you to remain balanced throughout your workout.
The great thing about the C6 is the adjustable handle bars. You can adjust the height of the moving handle bars to optimize comfort and reduce hunching or over extending your upper body. I’m very impressed with the adjustability of this elliptical trainer. It doesn’t matter how tall you are, the Tunturi C6 adjusts to ensure you are comfortable. The more comfortable you are with an exercise, the more effective it will be.

Price/cost effectiveness The Tunturi C6 is a pretty similar elliptical trainer to other elliptical machines in this price range. The big difference is the features. If you want a lot of features and programmes in an elliptical trainer for under $1,200 than this an elliptical trainer you may want to look at.
I feel that this is a pretty good elliptical trainer for the price.
Special features
The Tunturi C6 comes with a lot of programmes and features. Most elliptical trainers in this price range don’t have anywhere near the programmes that the C6 has. With 11 preset programmes and 8 customized programmes, the Tunturi C6 is hard to beat. Adjustable foot peddles and action bars makes the C6 a truly customizable elliptical trainer. It doesn’t matter what height you are, the C6 can accommodate you. The C6 also comes with transport wheels at the front of the base for ease of transportation.
Rating Overall the Tunturi C6 is a solid elliptical trainer. I have no problem recommending this elliptical trainer to those of you who want to get into shape.
