Home Made Protein Shake Recipes

As active weight trainers, we need protein and lots of it. However, sometimes preparing 6 meals a day can be just a little too overwhelming. I mean really, we don’t have gourmet chefs at our beck and call so we have to make due with what we got.

An easy way to prepare a high protein meal is to make a quick and tasty protein shake. Make a couple of these a day and it takes care of two meals that you don’t have to prepare. And the best thing about protein shakes is that you can easily take them anywhere. However, some times we just don’t have access to expensive brand name protein powders.

With that in mind, I decided that you may need a couple of home made protein shake recipes to help you with your weight training efforts. You don’t need to buy expensive protein powders. Most towns will have a grocery store or bulk food store. Simply go to your local store and buy a bag of whey protein for about 5 bucks. The rest you can get in your kitchen.

Here they are:

Home Made Protein Shake Recipe I

• 1 Banana
• 8 ounces of skim milk
• 1 tablespoon peanut butter
• 2 scoops of whey protein powder

Mix it all up in a blender and you have yourself a power protein drink.

Home Made Protein Shake Recipe II

• 1 cup of frozen strawberries
• 1 cup of low fat vanilla yogurt
• 2 scoops of whey protein powder
• 1 tablespoon of honey
• 1 ½ cups of skim milk
• ½ cup of orange juice

Mix it all up in a blender and blend until the mixture is nice and smooth.

All the best,

Blake
