Exercise bike benefits
Welcome to Building Muscle 101's exercise bike review.
Exercise bikes are great for cardiovascular fitness and toning/building your thighs.
The recumbent bikes are especially good for toning your butt. Exercise bikes also give your knees
a break and you can enjoy your favourite magazine or TV program while working out.
For those exercisers who are overweight, the recumbent bike offers bucket seats which can be
more comfortable than traditional uprights. A recumbent exercise bike is more ergonomically
correct than a traditional upright exercise bike and it’s an effective way to improve aerobic
capacity, as well as burn fat.
Recumbent exercise bikes also stress the gluteal muscles more so than with traditional upright
bikes. For those of you who want to really develop your butt, a recumbent exercise bike may be
of interest.
Although, an upright exercise bike simulates the ride of an actual bike ride.
To be honest, my preferred cardio workout is the exercise bike. I think it’s because of the
fact that I can read and peddle at the same time. I find that I have total control over the
amount of energy I want to expend on the exercise bike.
The exercise bike is also a great leg builder. Simply add more resistance to stimulate more
muscle growth. I also love to use the exercise bike before a heavy leg session because it warms up the legs, especially the knee area quite nicely.
If I had to pick my favourite cardio machine, it would have to be the exercise bike. Exercise
bikes allow me to go for a nice bike ride without having to worry about sleet, rain, cars, or
crazy dogs.
Here are just some of the benefits you can excpect to recieve while regularly exercising on an
exercise bike:
- You’ll develop and strengthen the quadriceps muscles, the gluteal muscles, and the hamstring
muscles
- There is virtually no impact from your upper weight so it’s easy on your knees and joints
- It provides a great cardio workout
- Very safe. You don’t have to worry about getting hit by a car or being chased by crazy dogs
You can't go wrong with an exercise bike.
