The reviews on this site are both, comprehensive and non biased. And yes, the reviews are done by an actual person who knows about fitness. My name is Blake Bissaillion and I personally review each elliptical trainer on this website for it's quality and durability. Beware of review sites that don't have a name attached to the site. If you can't find the name of the site's author or an "about us" page that gives you names and phone numbers, than you have to wonder about the objectivity and motivation of the site. You can find my information here. You'll find reviews of some of the top elliptical brands that cover everything you need to know about elliptical machines. Everything gets covered. First off, what are elliptical trainers? Elliptical trainers are exercise equipment that combine the movements of the stair climber, treadmill, and the exercise bike into one. If there ever was a perfect cardio machine, the elliptical machine would be it.
Elliptical exercise equipment combines the movements and benefits of hiking, cross country skiing, and biking. With elliptical exercise equipment, your legs travel in an elongated circular motion. It's as if you are standing on a cross country ski machine but instead of your feet moving back and forth, the machine forces them to move around in an oval pattern (hence elliptical). See the image below.
With quality ellipticals, you feel the movement as fluid. The good thing about elliptical trainers is that it doesn't create any impact, so it's easy on your joints. I remember the first time I ever seen an elliptical trainer. The first words out of my mouth were "what in the world is that!" Elliptical exercise equipment have since become one of my favourite aerobic exercises, dispite it's funny appearance. If you have never used an elliptical trainer before, don't be intimidated by it's appearance. It's actually one of the most comfortable pieces of exercise equipement you'll ever try as well as the most effective. There are many benefits to using an elliptical trainer but probably one of the most important benefits of using an ellitpical trainer is the absence of impact. You see, weight bearing exercises such as jogging places a great deal of stress on the back and joints. If you have ever jogged on pavement for any length of time, you'll know exactly what I'm talking about because it's pretty hard on the knees, ankles, shins, and back. Not so with the elliptical trainer. You get all of the benefits of weight bearing exercise without the joint stress. The buyers guide will show you what to look for in an elliptical machine. Buying elliptical exercise equipment Buying quality elliptical exercise equipment can be expensive. Although expensive, the trainer is more than worth it. Ensure that you make an informed choice regarding elliptical trainers. Make sure you find what your looking for. If your thinking of buying a cheap elliptical trainer, remember the saying, "you get what you pay for". See a specialized dealer and use their knowledge to make an informed choice. Remember that you want a combination of range, comfort and durability when your looking for an elliptical trainer. You want a variety of settings, programmes and intensity levels. If the range of motion isn't expansive and doesn't offer ramp and intensity changes, then the workout is nearly as effective as it could be. Are all quality elliptical trainers expensive? I'm not going to lie to you. Quality home elliptical trainers are expensive. Of course, you may buy cheap elliptical exercise equipment but unfortunately, alot of home elliptical equipment are pretty flimsy. Most home elliptical trainers, especially under $500, aren't as smooth as the more expensive gym models. Fortunately, this elliptical trainer review will present some of the better ellipticals on the market today at relatively low prices. Most home elliptical equipment tend to have short choppy strides and can be pretty cheap. The saying "you get what you pay for" is especially true for elliptical exercise equipment. Here's the good news, there are some great elliptical models on the market today for just about any budget. You simply have to know what to look for. Here's where this elliptical trainer review can come in handy. Of course, not everyone has $3,000 to dish out on elliptical exercise equipment. Don't worry, I'm going to provide an elliptical trainer review on some peices of equipment that range from $300 to $3,000 that are in my opinion, the best quality of elliptical exercise equipment today. Dollar for dollar, these peices of elliptical exercise equipment are the best in their price range. I suggest you try and stay away from the T.V infomercial elliptical exercise equipment. These units are very cheap and will not support any kind of weight. They will cost you more in headaches and aggravation than with quality workouts. If you have ever bought a cheap car that turned out to be a lemon, you'll know what I'm talking about. Dollar for dollar, who makes the better elliptical models? There are some really fantastic elliptical trainers out there, but of course, some of the better models cost money. Ok, now that you have an idea of what to look for in an elliptical trainer, let's go over some of the better ellipitcal trainers in the elliptical trainer review.
