"Eclipse 1100 HR elliptical trainer review"

RECOMMENDED

Fitness Quest Eclipse 1100 HR

$390.95 includes shipping to U.S residents only (excluding Hawaii and Alaska). Additional shipping costs may apply to other countries.

If your looking for a blend of performance and cost effectiveness, the is one elliptical trainer you might want to take a look at.

The Eclipse 1100 HR has a solid steel body frame which makes it a very sturdy elliptical machine. You want find any wobbles with this elliptical machine, even at the top resistance and all out workout intensities.

This is really what sets this elliptical trainer apart from other elliptical machines under $1,000. No matter what resistance or speed you set it at, the Eclipse won’t wobble from side to side. It is a very tough and sturdy elliptical trainer. The Eclipse 1100 HR can support up to 275 pounds! Most of the Ellipticals I have seen in this price range would be lucky to support 225 pounds let alone 275 pounds.

With 10 different programmes and 2 pulse controlled programmes, it makes for a very entertaining and interesting ride.

Size

Length 3'9" (47.5 In)
Width 2'2" (26.5 In)
Height 5' (61 In)
Weight 100 pounds

The Eclipse 1100 HR is a very compact elliptical trainer. It is very portable and comes with caster wheels at the base of the elliptical trainer. Simply tilt the elliptical trainer forward and wheel it in front of your TV. Once your done, simply wheel it back to your bedroom.

Adjustable resistance/peddles

Electronic magnetic variable resistance
No peddle adjustment

Resistance changes automatically based on the program you choose. Large, slip-resistant foot platforms for stability and ample foot room.

The variable magnetic resistance system is quite reliable and allows the user to adjust from 10 different preset programs all at the touch of a button. This makes it ideal for every member of your family. I love the fact that you can program the 1100 HR to automatically adjust it's resistance.

Elliptical stride

15" Diameter stride

The Eclipse 1100 HR uses a patented orbital linkage system. The orbital linkage system provides you with an easy, low-impact stride that follows a smaller elliptical path. This is the reason for the smaller arc on the elliptical stride.

Display/control panel

LCD screen
Speed
Distance travelled
Time
Calories burned
Pulse

The display/control panel is an easy to read LCD screen. The Eclipse 1100 HR has more features on the control panel than you'll know what to do with.

The Eclipse 1100 HR Elliptical Trainer features feedback indicators located on the console that keeps track of your speed, time, distance travelled, and approximate calories burned. This way you will always have instant feedback on your progress.

Programmes

10 preset programmes
2 heart rate controlled programmes

In this price range, you’d be hard pressed to find an elliptical trainer with 10 programmes and 2 heart rate controlled programmes.

The programmed workouts that the Eclipse 1100 HR provides is what sets it apart from other units in this price range.

Simply pick a workout, enter the length, and off you go. At Every few intervals, the resistance will change based on the time you entered. The Eclipse 1100 HR offers a variety of workout programs such as hiking, peak and endurance training that can test even the toughest athlete.

Frame

Sturdy and durably constructed
Compact, solid construction. Made from solid steel
Maximum user weight: 275 pounds

A very tough and sturdy elliptical trainer. I like the fact that the Eclipse 1100 HR can support up to 275 pounds.

Heart rate monitor

Yes

Contact pulse rate sensors located on the front handle bars. Simply put your hands on the front handle bars and you get your pulse rate. Pulse sensors also adjust to your workout needs by providing 2 preset programmes that keep you in your target heart rate throughout your workout.

Dual action handle bars

Yes

The Eclipse 1100 HR gives you the option of using the linked action system, dual action handlebars or the stationary focus bar. It depends on the kind of workout you want.

The inside stationary handle bars are curved and fitted with a rubber grip surface for easy handling. To the outside of the stationary handle bar, the dual action handlebars have been designed with a wider curvature to provide an optimized full body motion.

Warranty and service

1 year
Delivered within 5 to 10 days via UPS
30 day money back gaurantee

As with the Smooth ME, the Eclipse 1100 HR has outstanding customer service. Customer support at Fitness Quest is superior and they are very responsive to your questions. Even email questions and queries were returned promptly.

Price/cost effectiveness

$390.95 includes shipping to U.S residents only (excluding Hawaii and Alaska). Additional shipping costs may apply to other countries.

At a price of $390.95, you’ll be hard pressed to find an elliptical trainer with the same durability and variety than the Eclipse 1100 HR. Dollar for dollar, this elliptical trainer is hard to beat. If you are on a tight budget and need to find an elliptical trainer that's tough enough to last with the necessary programs to keep you entertained, than the Eclipse 1100 HR is for you.

All elliptical features have been reviewed and the conclusion is that this elliptical machine is just what the doctor ordered.

If you don’t have money to burn, this is one elliptical trainer worth looking at.

Special features

The Eclipse 1100 HR uses a system called “Orbital Linkage System”. The OLS basically provides a full elliptical range without the drop off feeling while keeping the range “oval” as opposed to up and down. Given the frame size, most elliptical trainers in this price range tend to go up and down as opposed to an elliptical motion.

There is also a reverse motion on the Eclipse 1100 HR. You have the option of going forward or going backward. Each works different muscle groups.

The Eclipse 1100 HR also has caster wheels underneath the frame for easy transportation. If portability is an issue, this elliptical trainer only weights 100 pounds and can be easily transported from room to room.

Elliptical Rating

Overall this is a fantastic piece of exercise equipment. You simply won’t find a better elliptical product in this price range.

If you are looking for solid elliptical trainer for under a $500 than you might want to consider the Eclipse 1100 HR trainer.
