It's Blake from building muscle 101. Sorry it's taken me so long to get this newsletter out but to tell you the truth, these last two months have been pretty tough. Firstly, I had to pick up and move half way across the country which required a huge amount of effort and time. Secondly, I've been spending a lot of time at the physiotherapy clinic (you'll find out more below).

Anyways, today I've got some pretty cool tips. I got a really cool article on whey protein that I know will help you with your gains. Also there's an article on how I blasted past a bench press plateau and added 45 pounds to my bench press in 10 weeks.

I’m Off To The Physiotherapist...

You know, when you're injury free and on top of your weight training game, you never once think your going to get an injury. This is especially true when your in your late teens or early 20's. Let me tell you, it's a big wake up call when you do injure yourself. I've injured my rotator cuffs on my right shoulder and it really, really sucks. I'm off to the physiotherapist to see what can be done about this injury.

What Are The Best Times To Take Whey Protein To Really Pack On The Muscle?

When I first started to take protein drinks, there was absolutely no information about optimal times to drink these horrible tasting drinks. Mind you, this was back in the mid 80's but still, there was no useful information at the time. Let me give you an example. For the first 4 months, I would have one protein drink every other day. This was a waste of time, money and effort. Today, I know much, much better.

To Cheat Or Not To Cheat?

Walk into any gym and chances are, your going to see some dude twisting, turning, heaving and jerking trying to get some crazy weight up. Ahhh, how misguided we are. Cheating leads to one thing, injury. However, let me say this, there is a way to cheat that will actually improve your intensity but this is a technique that must be learned. There are times when cheating, MAY be allowed but must kept under very strict rules.
