Building Muscle 101 Newsletter #19 - February 2008 - Weight Training Programs And Tips

It's Blake from building muscle 101. It’s been a couple of months since my last newsletter but I had to take some time off from both, writing and training. I think taking some time off from training has been the hardest. Anyways, I’m getting back into training as well as updating the website with some exciting new information.

Anyways, today I've got some pretty cool tips. I got some really cool articles on really packing on the muscle mass while losing body fat (Yes, it is possible). If you can combine these two strategies, I’m sure you can do it.

I’m sure you’re gonna love this months issue.

CONTENTS:

1. Weight training or cardio? What’s best for losing body fat?

2. Can this possibly be the best kind of workout for gaining muscle mass?

How did this guy gain 40 pounds of lean, hard muscle mass without using loads of supplements, drugs, or spending 3 hours a day in the gym?

Weight training or cardio? What’s best for losing body fat?

I had to tell you about 2 interesting things I noticed today now that everyone is once again attacking their New Years Resolutions for a better body.

One thing I noticed is that there seems to be a new blitz of commercials on TV now all claiming that you can "get your dream body without changing anything else in your life".

I'm not joking... I think those were pretty much the exact words this one commercial used. Sure enough, they were selling a bottle of some useless pills and trying to make you believe that this is the magic answer to your dream body. They said that you don't need exercise and you can eat anything and still get a perfect body.

Can this possibly be the best kind of workout for gaining muscle mass?

The other day, I was looking over a men’s health magazine and came across an article about how the guys from the movie “300" trained.

If you ever checked out the movie “300" you will see that all of the actors in that movie were in tremendous condition, including the star, Gerard Butler.

I believe the main premise of the article was how to use certain exercises performed in a certain manner that would produce the optimal amount of natural growth hormone release. How can a hard working weight trainer use those kinds of methods to pack on the muscle mass?

Can this possibly be the best cardio workout for losing body fat?

I know a lot of you are looking for the best cardio workouts that will 1) Burn the maximum amounts of fat; And 2) Maintain hard earned muscle.

But first, let me ask you all a question. How many of you enjoy doing 45 minutes of boring cardio? Well, I don’t, and I know most of you don’t either. I really don’t look forward to doing 45 minutes of cardio after a hard workout. I know, this seems to be one of the best times to do cardio, in terms of burning optimal amounts of fat, but I have such a hard time getting into it - Most of the time I have to force myself to do it.

Is there possibly a better way to burn fat? Find out in the following article:

Fantastic biceps and triceps workout

For this month’s workout, I’ve decided to go ahead with a bicep and tricep workout. It’s a pretty straight forward workout that targets the biceps and triceps with key movements designed to stimulate the muscle fibres of the upper arms.

Check the routine out here:

Branch chained amino acids for building muscle and strength

I remember back in 1987, weight trainers were going crazy over a supplement called “Branch Chained Amino Acids”.

Everybody I knew were trying to get their hands on this stuff but the only way to get it was through the Weider supplement company. The only problem was that his company charged through the roof for that stuff. I vividly remember seeing small bottles of BCAA’s going for 50 bucks. These bottles contained 30 capsules that held about 1 gram each. Can you imagine that? $1.50 for a gram of protein!

Anyways, find out in this article how you can effectively use this underrated supplement for building muscle mass and strength.
